I know it was the professional thing to do, but having to go back to work for two more weeks after quitting is *really* awkward. They’ll try to convince me to stay, probably, and that might make me really mad depending on how they go about it. 😅

Like I said…they have a million ways to weaponize our protests and don’t even care if we show up to tell our representatives how we feel.

The only way they will listen is forcing their donors to sweat, through strike or boycott.

If that happens, there aren’t many constitutional principles that I have faith will be able to hold.

All I can hope is that the cartels don’t get baited into a scenario on the border that could lead to the suspension of due process for Americans and the legitimization of arguments against birthright citizenship. They believe all they need to do is convince the courts immigration is invasion.

Of course. ☺️ I am formerly Catholic, and finding your account several months ago has given me hope that perhaps the entire Church won’t be sucked into the abyss of performative cruelty.

Those people will not break the habit until either they get bored (deprivation of the excitatory chemicals keeping them hooked), or they overdose on their narcissism and the consequence threatens their sense of material/psychological comfort.

Right now, supporters of authoritarianism are being fed pure and unadulterated dopamine rush 24/7, targeted individually on social media and reinforced relentlessly by traditional media, in an echo chamber designed to keep them addicted to validation at all costs.

Don’t mimic the methods, just understand the psychology behind THEIR methods and work to counteract their impact.

There are ways to be a defender and a hero without punching down or bringing themselves to their level. But until they get beyond their carefully workshopped messaging strategies and engage authentically, they won’t ever find what actually works.

The problem is that the Democratic and progressive base will also hang them out to dry for just about any sign of ideological inconsistency. What their leaders need to do is recognize that all those calculations are out the window and people are SCARED.

Because he and his enablers genuinely believe that their DNA is superior, and that it is a moral imperative to outbreed those they see as lesser human beings.

In other words, they’re fucking Nazis.

Because the right knows that Democrats care about their own pride and consistency of principle, and also how to exploit it to undermine them.

They’ve spent years thinking that a lack of civility was proof that the right would be outright rejected as undignified by the American people. At this point it would be hypocritical, but that’s exactly the trap they’ve been lured into.

I don’t think we are far from the breaking point.

The real question is, how do we get them out of that information chamber and back into their communities? To relearn empathy, and that on the other side of their ideology resides real human beings.

Actually, I believe that they are weaker than they were back then (2017-18). While a lot of that was organic and sprang up from some very demented grassroots, the information chamber they’re being kept in today seems much more fragile and vulnerable to pressure. Thus the need for choreography.
