Made entirely of stainless, brazed with a combination of nickel silver and silver solder. All the surfaces are scotch-brited, then sprayed with a simple clear coat.
I’m shipping this off to Micah today. Can’t wait to see what it looks like all mounted up!

It’s going on a mini velo, so it’s made to be modular and foldable.
It mounts only to the stem and handlebars. This limits the amount of weight it can carry, but it’s still a super useful light duty rack!

Custom racks really make all the difference!
This one is a little stainless mini rando with all the bits and bobs that Brian wanted.
Plus those bits on the side are just to hold whatever. A Voile strap fits twice through each little hole.
Even though the nickel silver has a higher melt temp than bronze or silver solder, the trick seems to be to use the smallest flame possible, otherwise the stainless overheats and nothing sticks.

Building a front rack for Austin’s cargo bike. It mounts to the head tube, because the bike has a suspension fork.
And it has some custom bits that are pretty cool! A custom shaped mount for a supernova headlight, and maybe the coolest thing of all: skateboard racks!

Custom dropouts now in UDH!
I’ve completed development of my custom UDH compatible dropouts with the fiddlehead f-hole logo. They use a precision machined sleeve from @paragonmachineworks to hold the UDH insert. And they’re compatible with any UDH hanger on the market.
More to come when it’s back from paint. It’s gonna be peachy!

Disc brakes and fenders, because Portland has weather. And all the city bike necessities - platform rack, dynamo lighting.
This one will be built up with the full @growtac equal group set. The brakes are the best mechanical calipers I’ve used. And the shift levers are… weird and super awesome.
Second bike for Made is off to paint!
This one is what I call a Portland-style commuter for Sarah. Sort of a mix between an all-road and a city bike.
It has drop bars, for comfort and for speeding down the springwater. Plenty of gears, because Portland has hills.
Trying something new with this stem. Needs a little cleanup, but I’m loving how it turned out!
This is my first stem with four bosses on the handlebar clamp. All of my previous stems have only a single bolt under the bars.
These are available for pre-order in my site if you like them. They hold a Nalgene bottle, and work well with Voile straps.

The wheels are from HiFi, with 38mm Rene Herse tires for maximum gravel adventure.
The bar tape is from camp and go slow. It really ties the room together.
The fork is custom. So is the stem and the racks.
And it’s sporting a couple of my cargo cages on the fork.
Mike’s all-road all built up! This thing really rips. It’s so much fun to ride. I’m a little jealous that Mike gets to keep it.
The drivetrain is Sram 1x 12, with a 10-50 eagle cassette in the back, and Gevenalle shifters up front.
The fork for Sarah’s commuting bike is coming together. Love the look of a segmented fork. Dropouts and brake tab from Paragon Machine Works.

Mike’s all road is off to powder coat. It’ll be on the roads making a statement soon.
Mike will ride this bike in this year’s STP (Seattle to Portland), then I’ll clean it up and it’ll be in my booth at Made in August. Come see it there!
I actually start with tinsnips and get most of that overhang off; the cleanup really doesn’t take that long after that.
I used my dynafile once, but the result wasn’t as clean - it took off material too fast, so it was harder to be precise.
If I had a lathe, I could trim these fork blade caps in like 30 seconds. I do it by hand with files and sandpaper. It takes considerably longer than 30 seconds.
I’m happy with the result though. It’s worth the effort.
