It always takes me a while to get used to the cold! It does make you feel more alive though. Have woken up this morning to mist and drizzle, thatβs a bit harder to deal with!

Itβs a very nice spot.
Pitched last night at 2000ft on the North Pennine moors. First time out out since September last year. A beautiful day of crisp blue skies. Warm sunshine in the valley and a cold biting wind up high. The sound of Curlew, lapwing and skylarks this morning.
It does lift the spirits.
Couldnβt ask for better weather this afternoon.

The only thing Iβve heard about it is itβs in Slovenia and itβs due to open in June, apparently.
A couple of weeks ago I got a Avicularia avicularia (Guyana Pinktoe tarantula). Itβs a fairly small arboreal species and this one has around a 5 inch leg span. Sheβs settling in well and has just started webbing up her enclosure. Sheβs an absolute beauty, and so far appears nice and gentle.
The ford on the minor road up to Tissington had a large volume of water today. Watched a 4x4 cross but wouldnβt it attempt in a normal car.
Itβs nice up there, not visited for a while.
Thanks Julie.
Sitting having lunch in the sun and if it wasnβt was the wind it would feel rather spring like.
A grey Nottingham Monday.
Looks a bit gloomy!
Looked a bit claggy for you!
Forgot what blue sky looked like!
It was a lovely day and my first proper walk of the year! Good to get out.
A lovely blue sky and crisp snowy day on Kinder Scout yesterday. Got the train to Edale for a change. The train, Edale and Kinder were all very busy with folk enjoying the first nice day of the year.
Itβs recommended not to handle any tarantula as they donβt benefit from it, they prefer to be left alone. This species although not very venomous can flick hairs which is not meant to be very nice if get in skin. Big fangs too!
π
I prefer them crawling slowly on the ground!
Might be a bit much!
That would be concerning! π
It is rather lovely. Itβs gone to hide in the burrow I made for it now.
They are beautiful. I was a little nervous moving this into its new home though!
Iβm hoping it has a good temperament when feeding!
We have a garden spider that lives in the car, a new web across the windscreen each time I get in!
A new addition to our household. He / she is a juvenile Brachypelma auratum (Mexican Flame knee Tarantula). Small at around 5cm, but over the next few years could grow up to 15cm. Currently on the side of its enclosure watching me workβ¦
I reckon itβll just end up being rain in Nottingham!
