and yeah youve heard my thoughts on this before

I missed having conversations, the viewer engagement. But ultimately Im a queer furry doing racing games and furries and queer people as a whole dont give a flying fuck about racing games enough to support or even watch me more than ten minutes. I was only useful to funnel people elsewhere. go me.

Ultimately I streamed the way I wanted. I branded the channel the way I wanted. I played what I wanted. But ultimately nobody really cared. Whether my avatar was uninteresting, my redeems were boring, but all I was good for was "oh your voice is nice so I leave you up in the background".

Will I ever stream again? the fuck if I know. it feels no different than if I was streaming except now I have a lot more free time, Im not "saving games" to only play on stream anymore. People who found me only to stay elsewhere have already moved on and stopped caring. So why bother anymore?

So I stopped. I haven't streamed since. Nobody's asked, "Hey Russ, why did you stop streaming?" or "Hey I miss your streams"

I was a fleeting moment to everybody, that's how it was and it's how it left me feeling. I poured a lot into my channel and what do I have to show it? lol nothing.

this cycle never went away. new people who found my channel were just funneled to everybody I would support. I'm not naming names but there was consistency with this. I felt like just time filler, not interesting, my channel was just a feeder to shoot folks elsewhere & I had to smile about it.

from 2022 on it was downhill. any new people who found the channel stuck around for a few weeks, but when I would raid somebody they took interest and stayed elsewhere. For months and months I saw everybody who found me and went to friends stay in their channels and servers & I was left behind.

back in 2020 to 2021 I raided so many other streamers who were starting out. I shared my community, a lot. But it created a big problem for me: viewer retention. As time passed I noticed familiar faces going away and every time I would raid a friend, I found them always at my friend's channels.

I've been on hiatus from streaming since last August.

Streaming for me it just lost it's allure for me in the end. Why? Well, there's a lot of reasons. A lot of reasons that I feel like I'll come off as asshole-ish bringing up. But I was sick of bleeding off my viewers to other channels.

I mean, this was just in a couple of weeks. This weekend alone it spiked hard. Reports show barrels of oil still rising in cost.

I mean, our prices are still going up. The boogie spots where I deliver I’ve seen it as high as $3.69 a gallon.

I’m really glad my Mazda doesn’t use a lot of fuel.
