Great to see Rishi Sunak & Akshata Murty on the BBC this morning telling us how understanding numbers better creates access to opportunities. Amazing that all we need to reverse centuries of structural inequality and non-existent social mobility is getting kids to do their times tables. Visionaries.

I don't usually post about politics on social media anymore, but my word Labour really are a crushing disappointment. No vision, no backbone. Essentially governing like the post-2019 Tories in many respects. Their legacy will be that they paved the way for a far-right Reform government.

Now, I'm no fan of Starmer or what Labour have become under him, but I don't remember Laura Kuenssberg being quite so forthright about the shambolic premiership of Johnson and the succession of clowns without face paint that followed him.

Having deleted twitter a while ago, I've now got rid of Facebook too. Both have turned into cesspits of racism and misogyny, with most content being from bots or sponsored pages. I don't post on here much but this still seems a much more pleasant place.

Thanks Becca, it's not always easy finding evaluations in social work, much of the research we found was fairly small scale and qualitative. Some really interesting findings, but we need to try to find out more about what works to support social workers in their practice.
