A photograph of the sunset over the island of Eigg and the Small Isles taken from the west coast Scottish fishing village of Arisaig.

Sometimes the sunsets in Scotland are stupendous that you absolutely must stop and spend some time looking at them. The very subtle changes in light and colour are almost imperceptible but they are there and they bring every warm orange, purple and blue shade you can possibly imagine.

Saddest thing I ever watched as a child.

A comic strip with six panels. In the first, Atrax the horse is sinking into mud while his human owner cries out to him. In the second panel, the horse is further into the mud. The human is inconsolable. In the next two panels, the horse has disappeared and the human leaves. In the fifth panel, the horse pokes his head up through the mud and asks: "Is he gone? Oh thank god." In the last panel, the horse takes off running.

And just like that, the @theoatmeal.bsky.social healed all my childhood trauma.
