the feeling you get after forming a strategy, piecing it all together and then executing on it while it goes exactly according to plan is practically euphoric, though
really excited to play more of this series

Based on this experience I'll just be happy to get through the main story, but usually I'm fond of an optional boss so it'll probably be a case-by-case basis. Making the final boss this hard after how much time I'd already invested just getting to it should be a crime
in my head the other games are just gonna be smooth sailing but i know that's not true
the amount of research i'm doing to beat this One Fucking Boss and so far i feel like i'm not getting anywhere. i'd like to have a word with atlus.
Previous bosses have been brutal, requiring some pretty stinky strategies (and a heaping of luck) to overcome, but this thing is absurd. I'm having to constantly retune my party to even stand a chance, and then I'm just praying I don't get an unlucky roll when it goes for certain status moves
I'm on the final boss of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey and it's clear this thing was created with utter contempt for the player
AOE spells covering every element, awful status moves, regular party wide instant kills, constant buff removal, absurd amounts of HP and multiple phases. Why?
people are posting their ten favourite games so here are mine (entries in the same series excluded)
Lovely city, hope you enjoy!

Here are mine! (1/3)
Of course I would get the Shin Megami Tensei hyperfixation instead of the Persona hyperfixation. Why can't I be normal?
To put into perspective how long the Castlevania series has been dormant, here's an excerpt from my Haunted Castle Revisited review on Backloggd which I wrote at the start of 2025

really interested in mewgenics mechanically speaking, but man the edmund mcmillan humour/style isn't for me

Genuinely surprised to hear this, it's been a fairly dry (admittedly very cold) month up north!
