Inside you there are two wolves
Inside you there are two wolves
A person dressed as the character from Whereβs Waldo (Wally) steps in front of a bus.
Flashing lights illuminate the scene as a photographer snaps pictures of the mangled corpse. Several yards away, a uniformed officer is vomiting on the sidewalk. An unmarked sedan pulls up, and a detective emerges. Staring down at the body, he slowly removes his sunglasses and whispers, βFound him.β
I do not think it raises that question at all. Nobody in the world thinks it raises that question. But good for you, typing some content.
Ironically this post itself contains a major error as Big Brother did not air until 1999.
Frankly itβs embarrassing how much George Orwellβs β1984β gets wrong about 1984. The publisher should update it to be more accurate, e.g. βWinston heard βEat Itβ by Weird Al Yankovic playing on the radio. βIβd hate to be Michael Jackson right now!β he said to Big Brotherβ
them: ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!?!
me: no
I donβt trust people who βcanβt complain.β
I donβt understand why more people donβt get nipply about dendrochronolgy. Itβs like, weβve determined that the tree used for that beam was growing when Queen Elizabeth I was using Venetian ceruse to cover up her smallpox scars
Thank you for saying this. My love for you burns bright as ever.
Yes. But if you do, you canβt.
I make no comment on his character, Iβm just saying that we know what was on his farm. I will not be silenced on this.
Also, actors in movies.
Ummmm. AS we know it.
Not true: we also know what he had on his farm

R/Titanic subreddit post: The iceberg that sank Titanic started as snowflakes falling in Greenland well over a thousand years ago. Imagine holding one in your hand, knowing it was destined to strike the Titanic
let this be your reminder that you too can kill nearly everyone aboard the Titanic if you just believe in yourself
Cute how you think you can tell infinite monkeys not to pursue their passion
True. This is me and my sisters on my eighth birthday.
John: It's not just the apps. Itβs everything America has done to spread its influence, because America dominates the media. We all consume it. In some way, shape, or form, things trickle down. And itβs pervasive when you speak to Americans that they are unaware of their position in the world and this cultural hegemonyββthat their conversations very quickly dominate the public space because everybody is affected by these influences. You grew up watching American TV. You grew up listening to American music. And often you might have to remind people that maybe we want to step back from America being the center of this conversation. For example, say I want to talk about slavery in northern Nigeria. One of the books I'm writing now is set in a time when the so-called caliphate in what is now northern Nigeria was at its peak. At that time, at least one in four persons was an enslaved person or in indentured servitude. At one point, we had probably the highest number of slaves in the world. Iβd like to talk about this without talking about slaves in the U.S. or white people. You know, why do I have to talk about white supremacy when writing about this period in Nigeria? But the conversation always goes there. This U.S. hegemony is true regardless of race. Even if you are oppressed in America, you still have this outsize influence globally, and the rest of us are choking on it. And we would like to have conversations in our local spaces that do not always devolve to American tribal wars.
Elnathan John gets it.
What a fascist. Hitler wanted to cultivate what was good in the human heart too. HITLER. You are HITLER, Jay.
I regret to report that all the people not on Bluesky are right about all the people on Bluesky.
Roxane would no doubt condemn the writer - whose name currently escapes me - who once said, "The problem with freedom of speech is that people think it means freedom from consequences"
dan bongino and kash patel lying unconscious on the ground after bonking their heads together as they both bent down to examine what is later determined to be their own footprints
That β/1β is chilling
Ugh. To those of you citing Charlie Kirkβs hypocrisy and reprehensible views as an implied justification for his murder, stop and think: do you really think people should get the death penalty for hypocrisy? Or for having stupid, despicable opinions? Democracy doesnβt work if we canβt speak freely.
