Hi! My debut novel THE HALLS OF THE DEAD releases August 18 with Harper Voyager! It is a gothic horror fantasy set in 1849 London, and follows 3 necromancers as they seek revenge on a corrupt judge (and fall in love with each other in the gory process).

Hi! Iβm S. M. My debut novel, THE HALLS OF THE DEAD, takes place in a magical version of Victorian London where necromancy is illegal, and follows 3 necromancers as they seek revenge on a corrupt judge (and fall in love with each other in the process).

With Nebula voting closing soon, allow me to ask one more time for your consideration π¦’β¨
eager to support you, too!
i'm so frustrated for you, too -- even though you pulled your work, the entire situation with the press is miserable, and i wish you + your work could have been treated better. i hope you find better homes for your work
The plum you're going to eat next summer.
This was one of my absolute favorite books I read last year, and I read a LOT of good books last year. Iβm hoping itβll quickly find a new home because it really is incredible, but in the meantime, yβall should grab it while itβs still available. ππ

Thank you! Iβm hopeful!
I love this book dearly and you should get it while you still can! Itβs seriously one of the best books I read last year!
Thanks my friend π₯² Iβm hopeful, too
Jay ππ₯Ή thank you for everything
Thank you - I hope you enjoy!
Thank you for loving my book π«
π« Thank you for loving this book as much as you do, and for being so vocal about it. It's way harder to want to give up when I *know* this book is beloved.

If you havenβt read How to Survive This Fairytale and you want toβor, if youβre one of the readers who loves this bookβyou should still be able to purchase it wherever books are sold through March 31.
I might recommend making any purchases sooner rather than later.
This book had no big publishing power behind it, and the only advertising money invested has been my own. This book found its audienceβand that audience loves this book. Readers want this story. I want this story back in the world ASAP, with a more stable home.
Since receiving the news about Hedone closing, I have been posting more often to ask for your consideration for the Hugos, Nebulas, Locus, etc. I wrote a damned good book, and if it has to go out of print (even if temporarily), I might as well try to get it some recognition. Why not lmao!
That being said, I hope it wonβt be unavailable forever. My agent & I are going to try to rehome it. This book is special: before it had been in the world a month, the team at Rainbow Crate approached me about a special edition. It's a finalist in *seven!* categories for the Indie Ink Awards.
This is a book about queer healing, queer triumph, queer love, and about having enough faith in yourself to change your story. It means the world to me that people love it as much as they do.
I am so sorry that it wonβt be available after March 31.
This has been a gut punch for me. How to Survive This Fairytale was published last January, just days before my motherβs sudden, tragic (!deeply traumatizing!) death. One of the biggest bright spots in the past year has been seeing how much readers LOVE this book.
In December, Iβd asked if it would be possible to publish the Fairytale sequel in 2027 if I turned in the first draft by March/April, and the answer was yes. As far as I knew, things were good. Clearly, things changed.
I was taken entirely by surprise last week when I received an email announcing that Hedone Books would be closing on March 31.
This email arrived without any prior mention, hint, or even the vaguest indication (to me) that the press would be shuttering.
On March 31, Hedone Books will be closing.
After March 31, How to Survive This Fairytale will not be available for purchase.

I just found out that Hedone Books (the publisher for HTSTF) is shutting down. According to the author's Instagram story, the book is still available for purchase through March 31, so if you want to read it (or if you've already read it and want some extra copies), now is the time to buy it!
Hedone Anthology authors were told we'd be paid by Jan 15th - which was months later than contracted. Then we were told we'd be paid by Feb 15th, which came and went with no payment or contact. Some of us emailed Hedone Books to ask for an update, but had no reply. Then 2 days ago some of us saw...
