yeah this is true, when i said mid game i meant like while you are actively doing shit, if you wipe the enemies or you’re respawning you definitely should use that time to notice what the enemies are doing or what you need to do, i just worded that poorly

this is the truest thing ever, far too many decisions in a 5 minute game to not just play off instinct and feeling. experience helps inform good decisions but if you are deliberating mid game you are playing it wrong

I think Splatoon is too fast and complex and different to have a flow chart approach to the game just go shoot people don’t over think it

everything you said is entirely true, most casual players would AT MOST watch official nintendo tournaments like worlds but i’m talking abt people who already are decently established in the comp scene, like a lot comp players i know don’t watch literally any comp

i would also love to have more information on how many people actually regularly compete in tournaments as these viewer numbers mean nothing if i dont know how many people play, but they just feel low for how big comp splatoon is for being entirely grassroots

bigger stuff like riptide or ltc get a few thousand which is def nice to see, but im just surprised how many people are fans of playing yet they dont care to watch top level, which i feel just leads to people not even knowing what goes on up there

genuinely shocking how many people play comp splatoon vs how many watch it. ipl being one of if not the biggest organization of tournaments and having not even 2k views on the sq s10 major vod, and sos gets like 100-400 each week

gecko is kind of insane on rm, the kit isn’t even that bad splash just has better options and that’s why gecko doesn’t really get picked, as for vjet it’s also good in rainmaker with vac but i think v96 might actually be the better pick there

after hit box changes the damage is way more consistent, along with health bars you always know how much it’s doing. it paints super well and has a weirdly good matchup spread lowkey
