The me that watched the night that Obama won his first election never foresaw a future so bleak.
You can’t credibly champion freedom and dissent abroad while excusing or minimizing violence against peaceful protest on your own soil.
There’s something deeply unsettling about watching Trump encourage people in Iran to rise up and protest—while at the same time defending the killer of a non-violent protestor here at home.
It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.
The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

It's official: Congress and Donald Trump have allowed the enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies to expire. Millions of Americans will either lose their health coverage or face dramatically higher premiums.
Shame on Congress.
Shame on Trump.
This will cost lives.
After Trump sent unmarked troops into Portland, something unexpected happened: my community grew. People showed up because we’re better when we work together, because Portland is not the dystopia it was painted to be, and because I refuse to be intimidated into silence.
