But I think it's right that capitulation to the fragile certainties of cisgenders is a totally losing proposition for us. The fear is definitely that if we insist on our genders we might see cis people differently than think they want to be seen, and the thing is : we do.
Any sincere response to that question I think has to reveal that universal uncertainty and that's hard to do in a genuine exchange let alone an antagonistic one.
Part of the problem with the question -as -troll is that it puts the onus of certainty on trans people so that it can reject any potential or for or recognition of uncertainty among cis people in general, but especially for the person "asking."
