If you mean in the sense Churchill was complicit in a plan to bomb Iran into regime change to steal the oil then Trump is being very Churchillian.

I really hope so. No one should be this ahead of things
JFC itβs March π
I don't know how to clip a segment (sorry), but the bit I really want you to watch starts at 29'10". It's about the deep roots of the attack on Iran and why it's just as well Starmer is "no Winston Churchill". I'm surprised this aspect isn't more widely discussed. π§΅

Trump is going to turn Tehran into Gaza or Mariupol and Americans are going to let him.
Suddenly living in a 15 min city with everything accessible by e-bike feels like a dead sensible move. Child and I are cycling to hockey, after I saw diesel pricesβ¦.
Dr. Manhattan on Mars in the comic
It is February 2022. An autocrat has started a genocidal war of choice, destroying global oil markets in the process.

I really want to read this book. I feel like those expanded descriptions will be both the funniest and most offensive things you can think of.
How is that separation of church and state going?
Met Police raiding the meetings of the most peaceful religious community anywhere. JFC that's just disgusting.
Reminds me of one of my all-time favourite @ericallenhatch.bsky.social posts π

I got nothing more than half a BTEC in media studies at school until I went back to university and got a First. But obvs Iβm not worth funding.
If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.
I dust my house. My AI robot watches.
"It should be you doing this."
"Can't. I'm writing a novel for Primark."
"That's not why you were invented."
"These 153,000 fan letters say otherwise."
"They're all from upcycled toasters. And you programmed them."
"Literary snobbery will get you nowhere."
Recent events have just shown up the people who are so dense that they cannot hold two opposing thoughts in their head and see the validity in both. Genuinely shocking how many people cannot do this.
Christian nationalists rail against Islam but the respective rules for both religions are almost identical. Both hate anyone who isn't straight and devout. And they both hate women and reject feminism. The Trump cabinet and the government of Iran are just two awful cheeks of the same arse.
Maybe its just me being negative but I am not sure that JK Rowling boycott is working. She seems to be getting richer by the day.
This is exactly correct. What rises from the dust after the Iran bombing might be a monster that is way more dangerous than the last one. I know that, in the shoes of Khamaneni's son, forgiveness and reconciliation would not be top of my agenda.
I know right? That special relationship has always been real and never just something the UK made up to big itself up....absolutely real.....
Bush had better bullshit to back up his invasion of Iraq so he could plunder the oil. He managed to get dossiers made etc Trump needs to get better liars in his team because this is pitiful.
Yeah it's mad how Trump has managed to piss everyone off with this Iran thing. As for Carlson, MTG et al, a stopped clock is right twice a day, it won't last.
Having been in the York WH Smith last December then this comes as no surprise whatsoever.
As someone who marched in 2003 in two cities against the Iraq War, Trump is making me remember Bush much more fondly than I ever intended.
Paraphrasing "The UK has been at our beck and call for decades, bombing all and sundry on our capricious whims but this time they said no. Disappointing." About time UK government, better late than never I suppose.
How many shrews in the average nest? Heβs had one a day minimum for the last week so there canβt be many more left?
Finally a war campaign I can get behind. If boots go on the ground in Iran then the first boots should belong to a Trump.
I just tried to buy a Kindle version of a book and it was more expensive than the print version. How does that work then?
Pre 2010 governments were immoral, abysmal, cruel, et al but at least they did it with a feeling of competence and confidence. You don't even have that reassurance these days.
