The performance of 'Berghain' by Rosalía at the #BRITS last night is pure art. Love when it hits industrial techno at the end! Björk giving it a real 'The Fifth Element' vibe. <3

The people who attack LGBTQ people, especially under the guise of protecting women and girls, don't seem too upset about 63 Iranian schoolgirls being killed. #iran
Sam Altman's AI can now be used to kill people on its own, no human decisions needed. Musk seriously damaged the Russian military because he wanted to. The age of the billionaire wars is here.
I don't go out on the gay scene much these days, and one of the things I miss is losing it to Donna Giles's version of 'And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going' down Canal Street - once a dreamgirl, always a dreamgirl, I guess.

Oof. I was by Platt Fields, a lot safer except for mugging season. People look at the white and Muslim votes as monolithic blocs, that's certainly not the case in Manchester and I suspect a lot of northern/midlands cities. I wonder if there is a drive to punish Labour, Tory style.
Didn't know you were from that way! I lived in Rusholme for 20 years - don't think people realise that stretch - from Hulme to Gorton, down to the Didsburys - are incredibly diverse. What's most impressive is how Labour seem to have forgotten why people in those areas vote for them.
Not doing music here so much, so I'll just be ranting in to the void on here from now on - head to @analoguetrash.com if you want to see me being nice about things.
Labour & Reform, with their transphobic, anti-immigrant, pro-Israel stances, thought they had a chance of winning a Manchester seat now, maybe because Denton side of the consistency. The west of the constituency is incredibly diverse, people get along, the anthesis of what those parties offered.
Labour hates GPEW, and Zack Polanski. It's not just about politics, it's irrational to the point of being OK with a Reform win. Labour is the party of religious fundamentalists, tech oligarchs & hedge funds (same people?). It's a toxic party and people are realising that.
Not sure that it was a 'natural' seat for them, despite how well they did votes wise. They'll make inroads in north Manchester at the general election, though. Candidates won't matter as much. But at the GE there might be a lot of four way splits, (I live in Calderdale) that'll be a real test.
I do wonder if Labour realises even now how much trouble they are in. Gorton and Denton wasn't a target seats for GPEW, afaik. They're looking at being wiped out in south Manchester, Reform could do the same to them in north Manchester. A perfect shitstorm. Congrats Hannah Spencer!

Los Angeles electronic duo HALLOWS hit the dark Italo trail on their new track, 'Wear You Out.' Sensual but glacial dark pop, it'll feature on the 'Dream' LP, out this June via Artoffact.

I’m a sucker for music that leaves light scents of Brel, Bowie, and Reed in its wake, so I was destined to fall for 'Girl of Summer' by Two Dark Birds. It'll feature on their new album 'Dreamers of the Golden Dream (Vol. 1)' which is out on the 27th. 🖤

'Lovely Walk' by Leto Grand is funk, but from a distinctly British perspective, especially as Grand’s delivery has a Baxter Dury style deadpan vibe, but also has a similar flirtatious ambience. 🖤

It's taken nearly a decade, but Carole Cadwalladr is increasingly shown to be right in what she was saying about Brexit and the operation that led to it.
If you’re familiar with MESH, De/Vision, or Clan of Xymox, the ‘showstopper’ quality of 'Velveteen' by Spire Circle – it’s a perfect set-closer for a festival appearance at Infest or Amphi – will likely bring back, and create, good memories. 🖤

“It’s the first song I’ve released where I’m performing everything heard on the track…drums, bass, synths, and vocals.” - Christian Cohle on the dark pop of his new single, 'Levitate.' 🖤

'We Found Out' by Detects parlays icy synths over a rumbling post-punk rhythm section. There’s a soothing and abstract solemnness to much of the track, growing into a greater dissonance, as the lead guitar becomes less calming and more assertive. 🖤

The 90s indie rock presence on I U Me by Awake & Dreaming is pronounced - but if you create a piece of music that can easily hold its own against Keane, Muse, or The Cranberries at their best, then that is well worth sharing with others. 🖤
