The evening is quiet enough that if he closes his eyes, his mind can paint the scene purely off the dampened sounds that trickle in through the walls. Then again, maybe he's just seen the scene so many times that he can play it out with his eyes closed: Alhaitham setting his key in the dish. The thud of Alhaitham kicking off his boots and stepping into his house slippers. The scrape of Alhaitham pulling out a chair at the table. The clink of Alhaitham's silverware as he eats his reheated dinner. The rush of water as Alhaitham does the dishes. Kaveh's lids grow heavier, shut though they already are. He grows drowsy, following the little Alhaithams in his head like oversized sheep putzing around the house. In his half-asleep state, he's only barely aware of the way Alhaitham's footsteps stop in the hallway, but the pause is so long that by the time Alhaitham moves away from his door, Kaveh is already lost to slumber.

Am I allowed to post a WIP when it isn't Wednesday? I'm just really excited about how much progress I've made on this fic! Hopefully I'll have another #haikaveh fic to share soon~ 💚💛

As soon as he thinks about how he needs to go he notices someone is approaching. Yin Yu appears, aplogizing for interrupting Hua Cheng, to which Xie Lian, who's hidden behind the bed curtain, answers in Hua Chengs stead. He tells Yin Yu it's no problem he interrupted them. Yin Yu seems to notice it's Xie Lian but doesn't comment on it.

Yin Yu agrees to that, which leaves Xie Lian happy about how his Hua Cheng impression seemed to work until Hua Cheng chimes in, saying "impressive Gege, you made me sound so sweet" while lovingly gazing at a shocked Xie Lian who just goes "Ah. S-San Lang you are awake?"

Yeah!! I appreciate they're always trying new ways to give us time with the characters but the voiced scenes always bring them to life 🥺

YEAH like I get it, 4 stars don't usually get voiced character quests and world quests are usually unvoiced but like.... world quests also don't usually involve playable characters!! It would have been so cool, hell even Flins showed up!

Like the whole oath-taking ceremony for the ratniki would've been way cooler voiced, I'm just saying!!

Damn, the world quest involving Illuga really should be voiced :/ and also easier to stumble into because I was really confused when I ended up at camp and he acted like we were already friends, only to double back later and stumble upon all this.
