Congratulations to @trevorcharles.bsky.social and my student Delaney Nash for a successful PhD defense. Dr. Nash is my first graduating PhD. I am extremely proud of what she did (a very diverse thesis, ranging from RSV and Influenza to algal viruses). Dr. Nash will excel in everything she does next.

Oh I like the Angels Law.
Need more than tax breaks though, since many of those startups are pre-revenue with little cash on hand. We need SBIR-type funding, as many have been arguing for years and years and years.
I love the fight that Canadians are showing, but will we be able to get our act together to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to propel our society to really become the best country in the world? That will take courage, investment and outsized support for education and research.
