We signed international data sharing agreements. Numerical weather prediction requires global data. We won't know what's coming unless upstream neighbors share their weather measurement data community.wmo.int/en/activity-...

Like most people, we need to pay for rent, insurance, and groceries. Many of us also have student loans, phone bills, and car payments.
At this point, we don't know when we will get our paychecks.

This week, my science pen-pal opened my letter answering her questions- how much do I get paid, how did I get funded (#NSF), what it looks like to be a scientist.
I didn't think that three weeks after writing my response, those answers may no longer be valid.
