Huh, I have a set of dBASE (DOS) floppies my dad “borrowed” from work. Maybe I should finally give that a try and see if it’s something I actually enjoy now.

Give the card edges a quick swipe with DeOxit Gold. Leaves a light oil film behind, a lot easier with large contact areas like this. See also backplane risers, 64-bit PCI cards, etc.
I kind of love those ridiculous 5.25” FDD filler panels.

If it’s only for sound deadening, I tend not to replace it. I end up regretting this on things like dot matrix printers.
I’ve seen it several times over the years and yes it still stings a little every time.
Even back in the day we knew better than to leave VNC wide open. Let alone on what looks like a water treatment system with some mildly spicy chemicals.
