Christ, this looks fucking dreadful.
It makes Blackbird seem like On Her Majestyβs Secret Service.
I love it.

I love that they put that on the box like it's a compliment.
I hope I never learn the context of this post.
How long before banning trans women in sport becomes banning all womenβs sport altogether ?
"My name? J.R. Hartley!"
OH GOD! OH JESUS CHRIST!
It's racey in more ways than one.

While people waited for the show to start they gave away free booze, presumably so the audience was more excitable. So it became a thing that Leeds students did. To a taping, get battered on free beer and maybe earn enough to pay your rent for a year.
So, I've been informed that the scenario was thus. The UK version of The Price is Right was filmed in Leeds and the studio was at one end of Hyde Park where a lot of student accommodation is located. You could walk in and get to be part of the audience.
Might still be on YouTube somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.
An old friend of my partner was on the UK version back in the 90s and he was drunk as hell. He won the whole damn thing.
That's a classic "How it started, how it's going" post right there
An ibm slide from 1979 which says in black text on white background βa computer can never be held accountable therefore a computer must never make a management decisionβ
Sadly relevant, still:
I wonder if on one of the Indian channels some middle-aged comedian is being sent around Britain, getting the Thameslink to St Albans, sampling pey wet in Wigan, poignantly observing that there are homeless folk on the streets even in Knightsbridge, and so forth bsky.app/profile/jack...
While I have personally found CBT to be incredibly helpful it isn't right for everyone and there does seem to be a sense that if people say it isn't for them that mental health services throw their hands in the air and say they're all out of ideas.
Happy "working for the WB sucked so much it knocked Affleck off the wagon so we got this remake of the Dark Knight films instead" Day to all who celebrate.

I do sometimes wonder if I too underestimate the power of organic crystallography.
Vance really seems to be on some strange mission of his own devising to make the leaders of the Catholic church utterly despise him.
At 4pm on Saturday the 7th, BBC Radio 4 Extra are re-broadcast my adaptation of Iain M. Banksβ βThe State of the Artβ starring the late Sir Antony Sher as the ship. So pleased thatβs going to be out there again.
"The CIA conspired to make me less cool than I was when I was 25" is the most succinct Gen X manifesto I've ever heard

They would do it as a trilogy now rather than being crazy enough to do the whole saga from Arthur's conception to his death and somehow pulling it off.
I have this, been waiting for a good time to crack it open and dive in. I love Excalibur in all its bonkers glory
This is why everyone else is losing their shit about the Gorton and Denton result. Voters who previously liked the Greens but didn't think they could win seats have now seen that they can. Making them a real and viable option to vote for.
Well, that explains the erratic delivery times.
What in the Subnautica is this thing!
Crusades. The United States government is basically telling their troops that these are holy crusades. This administration is completely unhinged and led by a Defence Secretary that is treating real lives like Call of Duty.
