Someone at my school district (not sure who) nominated me for recognition at the company I work for (as a contractor)! The text of the nom was very thoughtful and referred to all the things I pride myself on doing and being, so that was a good feeling.

It’s been 2 months since I FINISHED student teaching, and the PA Higher Education Assistance Agency only just told me that they ran out of funding for student teaching stipends. I worked for the public school system for free for four months. And you wonder why teachers are burning out.

Just wanted to clarify with the scare quotes around “American” in the previous thread referring to the bison: I mean the landmass not the colonial and imperial entity. I mean that this land is their land, not that the bison should be seen as part of the occupying cultures.

You are being fed propaganda by the cattle industry. If you actually care about #conservation of this sacred and life-giving land, open your eyes. Bison are as “American” as any animal can be.

Bison belong in America. If the history doesn’t move you, you are weak. But the science is also irrefutable. Our ecosystem has suffered without them. Bison are grass-fed and therefore adapted for American prairies. They produce meat that is lower in fat and thus healthier for us to consume.

Bison are theeeeee large herbivores of this continent since time immemorial. The US gov with the help of settlers and businesses orchestrated an extinction-level campaign against them to deprive Native peoples of the Great Plains the key species in their subsistence and societies.

You may not have heard about the new policy from BLM regarding classifying bison: bison are no longer allowed to freely graze on public lands in MT. This is just the start, unfortunately.

A registered nurse was doing his duty to check on/care for a fellow human who had just been assaulted and ICE executed him on the street for it. That is America today, and for the foreseeable future, unless ICE is fully abolished.

ICE is murdering people unchecked in the streets. They are murdering people in the concentration camps. They are MURDERERS.

Every time a congressperson is denied access to an ICE facility no one can tell me why they didn’t show up with armed dudes actually loyal to the constitution and sledgehammers because it is the LAW they be granted access.

Just saw The Bone Temple. Ralph Fiennes and Erin Kellyman were fantastic; Jack O’Connell was levels of insane we have come to expect; and the actors who play Spike and Samson just do amazing and heartbreaking things with their faces.
