Iโm a Shelley stan who happens to have a side gig as the CEO of the London ๐จ๐ฆChamber of Commerce. "Hope is a solemn duty which we owe alike to ourselves and the world." - Percy Shelley Visit www.grahamhenderson.ca to find out just how radical he was!

headline that says RFK blasts Dunkin' as Healey Replies, "come and take it."
This is the absolute only instance of Molon Labe (ฮผฮฟฮปแฝผฮฝ ฮปฮฑฮฒฮญ = "come and take it") that I will ever condone. ๐ฉ Thank you for your attention to this donutist matter.
โPoets [creators] are the unacknowledged legislators or the worldโ. PBShelley. By which he meant they are the โrepresentatives of the peopleโ - they lead and they imagine a better future. The politics of the imagination is a real thing. Art can and does change the world.

The music of revolution is so much more than protest songsโrevolutions are also often soundtracked by songs of hope, love, and joy.

I think itโs important for folks to read the article. You can then be the judge of whether that headline reflects what Carney said. IMO it is very misrepresentative.
Thanks for a fun interaction!!!!

He cites Shelley by name (โone of my favourite poetsโ) and then quotes the lines at 12 minutes and four seconds. Shelley was also well known among those on the hard left of the party and the socialists. Paul Foot for example. So to me, it seems to be the logical source.
Well, he quoted Shelley at Glastonbury and he also had the entire audience quoting the final lines at his rally at Islington on the eve of the election. So it just seems natural to me that thatโs where he got it from. And yes, Shelley may well have borrowed the line as well.
XC "And these words shall then become Like Oppression's thundered doom Ringing through each heart and brain, Heard againโagainโagainโ XCI "Rise like Lions after slumber In unvanquishable numberโ Shake your chains to earth like dew Which in sleep had fallen on youโ Ye are manyโthey are few."
It comes from Mask of Anarchy. And during the 2017 election Corbyn used the line as the Labour slogan. He could be heard reciting lines from the poem many times - including at Glastonbury. www.grahamhenderson.ca/percy-bysshe...
There was a pretty definitive answer to that and itโs Shelley.
I was reading in one of de Hamelโs books (I think) about how many sheep had too be kept in order to maintain the medieval manuscript business a LOT. Also Neil Price talked about the staggering number of sheep required by the Vikingsโฆ. Just to outfit one long haul vessel and expedition.
I was happy for a moment. But then I was very sad. The poor donkeys.

If itโs your favourite, Iโm almost sure itโs going to be mine. Iโve ordered it. Found this: โโฆsits firmly in the tradition of anglophone scholarship descending from Symeโs The Roman Revolution (1939) as refined by Gruenโs Last Generation of the Roman Republic (1974).โ I โค๏ธ those 2 books. I did not know that. And I have now subscribed! Thank you .
Plus the new book on the Sahara!!!

Youโre kidding, right? They have golf carts.?
I did the same, but in 1968. With my father. I was in grade 8. You could say that it was a life altering experience and it would not be an exaggeration. And those days, it was completely deserted - no tourists.
