With a CBA deal still pending, Lexington and Louisville begin the season with a minute-long moment of stillness.
Missed that Masaki Hemmi, of Chicago Stars interim manager fame, is managing the Lexington SC men this season.
Play starts and both Lexington SC and Louisville City stand still with their hands behind their backs to demonstrate against the USL’s behavior during these CBA talks.
The players have authorized a strike, for now, they play on.
Balo is 3 goals away from matching his nonPK goal tally from the 22 goal szn btw
Georgi Minoungou a full participant today. Paul Rothrock doing work in gym. Kim kee-hee also not outside.
See, Madrid is fine.
I wrote about Ally Sentnor's usage as a striker this week, and while I think that is the preferred profile for Armas - especially with Debinha also playing up top at times since arriving in KC - there was a need to add a player with a striker's profile.

Kyra Carusa's underlying numbers 2025 season.
Kyra Carusa's player radar during the 2024 NWSL season.
The underlying numbers are somewhat encouraging despite her lack of outright production, keeping in mind a small sample size and entirely different expectations for strikers under Eidevall vs Armas:
KC Current announced former San Diego Wave attacker Kyra Carusa is hoping on loan from sister club HB Køge through June 30th.
Carusa was fine depth in San Diego, 5 goal contributions over 39 NWSL apps. If anything, it speaks to the Current’s depth crunch until players return from the injury list.
I'm starting to think these Billionaires might not share my personal politics.

I'm not sure if this includes any GAM converted from the Klauss deal; it depends on when the deal paid out, but I've asked. Going 3/3 vs 2/4 also means they have $1 million less designated GAM, and then the rest is on Teuchert, Löwen, Wallem, and Ostrák's contracts.

ICYMI: The USL emailed every Championship player an FAQ doc that included guidance on “crossing a picket line” and “Union membership resignation.”
An active player said teammates couldn’t find it until they checked spam. “I just think it’s a bunch of bullshit.”

Inter Miami became the latest team to become wallpaper in Trump’s White House. Even by the standards of this administration, and even by the standards of American soccer, it was a truly bizarre thing to watch.

USLPA Statement on USHQ's Union-Busting Tactics To our Supporters, The timing and tone of US HQ's communication is crystal clear - an effort to scare players out of exercising their rights. This is classic union-busting in action. Their letter attempts to inject fear and confusion into the bargaining process while misrepresenting what is actually on the table. It spins numbers and selectively frames proposals in a way that ignores the broader context of negotiations. Unfortunately for League HQ, our players know exactly what has been put on the table. The Players Association has been transparent with membership every step of the way, and players are fully aware of their rights and the realities of these negotiations. The bigger question is why a professional soccer league is warning players about the consequences of a strike instead of addressing why so many players felt compelled to authorize their bargaining committee to call one if necessary. If anything, this kind of pressure campaign only reinforces why players voted to provide strike authorization in the first place. They're making workers sound unreasonable for simply asking to be paid a living wage, when the reality is some players in this league could potentially qualify for food assistance programs. This is what management does-but players remain committed to ensuring that no member of the USPA is left in a vulnerable situation. With appreciation for your continued support, USL Championship Players

It's been slowly building to this point. The USLPA authorized a strike last week, but they hadn't taken that step yet.
You would think
"They were gonna hit us if we didn't hit them, because they're crazy."
"The Dow is at 50,000."
"You'll be totally safe with immunity or you'll have guaranteed death."
