Worker-to-worker education has always been an essential ingredient of the Fair Food Program’s unique success.
These education sessions happen on-the-clock, each season, with staff members of the CIW engaging farmworkers on their rights and responsibilities under the FFP.
Farmworker and CIW staff member Lupe Gonzalo recently spoke at a conference on food sustainability at Yale University. Speaking from her firsthand experiences in the fields, Gonzalo made the case that true sustainability in food systems begins with empowering and protecting farmworkers.
