Happy bday! Hereโs one just published in Modern Haiku ๐ป
Gratitude to editor Roberta Beary for including my haibun โBody Workโ in the latest Modern Haiku ๐ป "Body Work I am a table. This woman loves the table. Her octopus hands. She ensures that nothing heavy is placed on me. Every knot is polished into yes with the scent of a ripe orange grove. The initials of old lovers wilt like a willow no one owns. resting pulse a thicket of swaying sea grass Her tentacles bend and shape me into something new. Curved ribs. Scrolled neck. Arched back. No longer a table, I pluck what I learned of her water sounds. And float in her ink cloud as the tides pull me under. trigger points loosening a lower octave of violin"

Same! Thanks for showing there is some hope on the horizon! ๐ธ
Oh, letโs hope so! Menopause has been awful for me for sleep and refractory scale numbers. I havenโt tried a weighted vest or backpack though. Congrats on your success!
Big congrats! I was a rockstar sleeper until a couple years ago. The thing that helped me was a magnesium supplement. This is after trying many other things. Good luck!
Thanks for letting me know...I hope you enjoy it! :)
Congrats! Glad you enjoyed 'no matter how it ends a blurbird's song' (I'm assuming that's the one ๐). Happy new year!
We were just behind a plow / salt truck that had written on the back "Stay back 300 feet." I said, isn't that basically a 30-story building resting on its side? A couple of city blocks, at least? Who could even read it?
Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
Thank you so much, Kris! I'm glad it found a home with you. Happy holidays!
Read it, people!
An ekphrastic #haibun that I think stands on its own without the painting (although the painting is shown too).

Powerful and unsettling work.
Thank you for sharing it, Kris! Not easy to write these things.

Well maybe there is an increased awareness about creative writing ๐ธ Hard to know!
Haha right? I've heard about other poets getting them too. Just wondering if we are ALL receiving these. Too funny.
Are we all receiving these weird, likely AI-generated spam pitches? I receive them daily, so many I could use them as wallpaper. And they're kinda hilarious (apparently, I've cracked the code for binding metaphors with molecules). Perhaps they believe that poetry is lucrative? ๐
Autumn trees with a banner over them reading: "Submissions for Pebbles vol. 6 extended till 11/30. Send up to 10 poems | 1 - 5 lines each
General Submissions remain closed but we're reopening Pebbles vol. 6 subs till November 30. Send us up to 10 poems, each no more than 5 lines, and/or visuals (haiga, etc.).
My kids were like... you wrote a poem about what? I am thrilled it found a home in ONE ART! Gratitude to editor Mark Danowsky for curating it.
