SAME!!
SAME!!
Have too much fun! Iβm so sad Iβm missing it this year.
I miss the days of later startsβweβre beginning week 6 tomorrow!
Someday I will learn coffee in the late afternoon is a terrible idea. Today isnβt that day and tomorrow doesnβt look promising, either.
I do one, yes, but I think the one @professorberry.bsky.social is looking for was Juliaβs on The Jigsaw: www.teachingmusichistory.com/2023/01/23/p...
Happy belated birthday (I know how much more it stinks than usual to lose a fur baby on your birthdayβI had to say goodbye to Tommy on mine).
Oh no! This has been such a rough year for you with the fur babies. Sending hugs, friend.
Incidentally, I have connective tissue disorder where retinal detachment is common, so you can imagine why I panicked and went to the ER!
Oof, I wound up in the ER with one of those in May. I had no idea those were a thing, which is why I went. It was 2 weeks after my rotator cuff surgery and the docs and nurses would come in before looking at my paperwork, saw I was in a sling, and all thought I was there for my arm. Not fun.
Oh, Kevin. Iβm so sorry about LuLu and Megatron. Sending hugs.
Oooh, thanks! Now to translate it from the Swedish!
As per the Clingstones yesterday,

Womp womp.
Note: we call all certificates under a certain number of credits βundergraduateβ but we have people in/have completed the certificate with undergraduate and/or graduate degrees or are pursuing one.
For those who might be interested in pursuing formal study in Public Musicology that gets you a portfolio of work and experiential learning, we have room for more students in our online, stand-alone certificate for fall 2025 entry! Contact me for details! catalog.columbusstate.edu/academic-deg...
How long are you here? Would love to see you!!
I think we need to make it best practice to thank those who teach our classes while doing research in our pubs. I happen to know which adjunct is teaching the class I would have taught if it werenβt for my course release this semester for my book research. Heβs getting an acknowledgment in the book.
Iβve been doing it since January 2021 in all my courses, including grad courses. Happy to chat if youβd like!
My tenure letter arrived today, a day I never thought Iβd see (those of you who know my history understand why).
I did it. I really did it.
Itβs the worst. PhD, 19 years teaching as instructor of record, 4 books, and currently associate professor, and you may or may not be shocked that you make more than me. Itβs awful out there. Hugs, friend.
Happy birthday!
Iβm so excited for this!!
And then thereβs this oldie but goodie: theonion.com/fauci-warns-...
You have such awful luck with living spaces, dear duck. Let me know if you need anything from afar.
Iβm devastated by the loss of David Lynch, whose work has had such an impact on me. Have some damn fine coffee, up there!
Itβs such a loss for all of us.
Reminds me of the year AMS was in the same hotel as the Kentucky Muscle Competitionβ¦
We start Monday *cries*
Public writing related to music, that is.
Do I know anyone who writes album reviews or concert reviews not targeted toward academics or does any other type of public writing, broadly defined (for instance, podcast scripts count) who might be willing to virtually visit my public musicology class this spring?
Iβm so sorry, friend.
