pretty sure they just update the photos at this point
I PROMISE that not a single one of us has ever heard of this name before, he might be a hologram
damn, sounds like we *just* missed each other!
I did tutoring there for a time!! It's now been a decade since I've lived in Boston but it was an unforgettable experience
many-kinds-of-rock-star and my dear friend Dr. Gwen Ottinger just published an impossibly timely book, The Science of Repair: How People Who Believe in Facts Can Build a Better Future:

NOT ruling the world, obviously, but then that's framed as a desire, not a command, so it all fits
π!!
I think this makes sense. When I hate something, I want to change whatever it is about the larger problem that the thing I hate is a result or symptom of, so I instinctively write as a call to action.
If I love something, it's all good, we can just enjoy it, nothing *I* need to *do* or hope you do
you might've just hit on the reason why so many Americans find so much of ancient Roman history SO INTERESTING and "so relevant to how we do things now" etc
ugh I don't even KNOW
You know youβre a 90s kid if you remember when the U.S. government would at least make up a fake reason to attack the Middle East
also I just saw your handle.
....amazing
dropping in to say that I taught a Deviance-themed Composition class for first-year college students and ONE OF THE TEXTS WE ANALYZED WAS "CAUGHT STEALING," both the lyrics and the video
so yes I second this
academics convinced that careful phrasing and well-cited sources + analysis applied in a heretofore unexplored manner can still DO something EVEN NOW say wuuuuuuuuut
(my life too except I'm in my first year)
I'd call your role instrumental!
SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!
also, "fear the consequences of saying what they know."
wtf does that mean? afraid we'll kill them or what? It can't be fear of losing their jobs, since aside from a handful of cancelled projects NG hasn't really lost anything (to my knowledge)
About a year ago, because I LOVE that song, I listened to it as something of an experiment, not having heard it in a very long time.
I had no idea what I was in for: I actually HOWLED IN DESPAIR when I heard those lines. Like full-throated top-of-my-lungs shit. Absolutely a facet of the tragedy.
Fine, I'll buy Warner Bros. What's their Venmo?
THIS HAS ALREADY CAUSED CONFUSION IN MY LIFE
2026 in pictures
THERE we go, damn that was good
I mean, obviously ideally you wouldn't have had to be good THAT WAY but given that this is what we've got, π!
.....that quote....is unhinged.
"it would be weird if horses rebelled and said no, I want to pull carriages, that is my purpose in life."
.ON NO LEVEL DOES THIS METAPHOR OR COMPARISON OR SYMBOLISM WORK. goddamn none of these dudes have ever *read* anything
PARALYMPIANS TOO, FUCK YES
we <333333333333333 you, Flav
This should definitely be the case for once-a-week four-hour PhD courses
because all hands on deck are required in a KETCHUP SITUATION
brb calling Sweden
okay what can we do you've earned WAY more than clicking-on-a-heart for this
YES on this entire exchange, augh. I remember when the allegations came out and @harpercollins.bsky.social was like "WE HAVE NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS, WE'RE NOT SCHEDULED TO PUBLISH ANYTHING NEW BY HIM" *door-slam.*
But...are they scheduled to now?! I can't find any info confirming or denying that
I HEAR YOU. We'll make it through but auuuughhh what is going *on*
I HAVE BEEN FEELING THIS ALL DAY AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. Work was not especially stressful today, at least not any moreso than it's ever been with a lot of genuinely good moments. and yet at the end of the day I was 3 breaths away from my last, and I keep being like "this week has just STARTED?!"
