Yup, seems to be the objective.

They deserve a fckn trophy π©

I haven't listened to the album, but yes - this song was important for me when dealing with some difficult things as well. I'll give the album a listen.
True.
So good β€οΈπΆ
I'm waiting for the equivalent of John Key's top draw of political dirt to be opened to distract from Luxon's troubles.

Day 9: A song about insecurity
Big Country β Troubled Man
πΆIf I must be alone
Then let it be forever
For it takes a troubled man
To know the freedom of his fear
No longer will I look
For what can never happen
No deeper can I long
For what I know is dear
You're so kind thank you. I'm home for a break. My sisters and I are taking turns being with her. I'll be back with her on Tues if she is still with us. She's been a wonderful Nan so lots of love and caring from a bunch of grandchildren too - all trying to keep her as comfortable as possible x

Day 8: Peter Frampton - Do you feel like I do
Frampton Comes Alive
He popularized the talk box in the mid-1970s. Legend.
Such a good song β€οΈ

Palliative care humour. The kind of humour mum appreciates. She's been full of ot the last couple of days, interspersed with delusions. Sleeping all day today, so far.

Day 7: A song you would play for your younger self
I always hated my name when I was a kid β it was an old personβs name.
Then I heard this and felt better about it π
Seriously, this helped me change my view of who I am.
Such a talented artist.
It's really hard in the past for NZ musicians to get international recognition- tyranny of distance maybe - although this seems to be changing, thank goodness.
7 Kimbra
As well as NZ music awards, won a Grammy for record of the yea with Goyte for "Somebody That I Used to Know", becoming the second Australian and first New Zealand act to win the award.
Her NZMA award-winning breakthrough song (2011)
Kimbra β Settle Down
Thanks. She's comfortable, mostly. Not enough staff, of course for people in this situation. But covid means she must stay in hospital, rather than go back to her retirement home where all her familiar people are.
She's been through enough already. She should at least be able to go to sleep and just not wake up instead of this.
It helps that you shared your story β€οΈ
After everything my mother has been through in her 90 years - fires, fights, cancer and more - covid coupled with pneumonia has resulted in palliative care.
It's been a day.
25 years is a long time! Pleased you enjoyed it π
She does an excellent job with this song. Fabulous!

We're learning all this the hard way in Wellingto NZ. Pity we didn't pay attention to the UK experience (good and bad) several years ago.
Thank you π you're were right when you wrote 'google is your friend' - telling me 7/8 is used in folk music, and wikipedia provided examples π πΆ
