Thanks Mike! Mmmm carbon trapping.

Right!? Sometimes less is more. Focus on forms and let the kiln work it's magic.
Thanks so much!
Nothing better than soda fired porcelain.
Made in Winnipeg!
Totally, don't want to waste the momentum! And it's a nice work out when you do those big pots!
Mmmm, 36 grams of delicious espresso. Locally roasted here in Manitoba (Dominion Coffee)
Which cup is heavier?
Trick question, they all use about the same~ amount of clay... The little espresso cup has the thickest walls! Making it the heaviest of the three.
Rule #1 with thick espresso cup... Preheat well or your coffee will be cold!
Thanks! Unloading is the best part ๐
Early morning Soda Kiln opening!
Looking forward to seeing it work.
How did you like the new app for the video?
Hot in the kiln... -20 outside

True, can't imagine if we all did and liked the same things....
Not quite an ASMR video....lol
Why pay a therapist!?
Nice! I'll have to get my sling shot!
Ick... I can't stand puzzles, poor students ๐
Amen!
Something liberating about smashing pots eh? When one stub a toe, go to the 'smash em' shelf and go at it...lol
Good idea! I'll keep an eye out ๐
Yeah... Sad, but our recycling depot takes ceramics, so it gets crushed and used as a aggregate. So it's not a complete loss (or I'm just soothing my conscience...)
Lucky visitors! I've done buy one get a 'seconds' free, but these are beyond seconds, thirds or fourths, either requiring far more time and effort to fix than making a new one, or just unfixable.
Right!? Save them until we get time to 'fix them'... But does that day ever come?
What do you do with pots that don't make the cut?
Flashing slip on plate rims, oh so satisfying!
Large bowls and plates I spray the outside with thin slip on greenware and brush on the rim before putting them in the bisque.

Love that keyboard!
Finally some good weather! Get those shelves cleaned, clear those solar panels (try to run the electric kiln on sunny days!). And process that wood! When your arborist friend brings you 3 big oak trees...!!!
We have a coffee roaster here in Winnipeg called little sister coffee, I think it would taste extra special in your mugs!
Thanks! I think orange is one of my favourite colours!
Hmm...I didn't remember that photo..Folk Fest I assume?
Beautiful!
