Yeah, at this point major Hollywood movies are on the same level for me, exposure-wise, as the random Indian and Chinese movies that play in local theaters. I wouldn't have known that Project Hail Mary was getting a movie adaptation if I didn't see a poster for it on the way to Umamusume.

Not literally, of course, but it was rare that when I went to the multiplex there was a title I hadn't seen at least one ad for. Now it feels like they blow through completely invisibly.

It really is odd these days how the demise of centralized advertising means movies can just ... pass by, completely unnoticed. It's hard to remember but in the days when I watched a lot of basic cable I felt like I knew pretty much *every movie that came out*.

Just watched a very weird and wonderful movie called DUST BUNNY that I randomly found on Prime. The premise is "a little girl hires an assassin to kill the monster under her bed" but the whole thing is just gonzo and amazing.

The wild thing is I feel like we already did this exact cycle with MMOs 20 years ago! After WoW came out everybody was making one to jump on the trend, and they all found out the hard way that there's a lot less room in the market for MMOs than for single player games.
