the biggest issue seems to be getting the drivers for nvidia gpus to work properly. but that’s a general linux thing not necessarily ubuntu specific
im not the most knowledgeable but if you’re going to experiment with linux the safest bet seems to be ubuntu. it has a lot of community support and seems to be the most stable and hardest for new users to break (at least that’s what my computer buddy told me)
I cannot recommend you enough to install the Wikipedia app on your devices and use it like you would any search engine. Nowadays they even have tabs so you can open many articles at once.
