Rose, calendula, camellia, snapdragon, cherry blossom, nasturtium, lilac, etc. I’ve seen lots of lavender and fuchsia in bloom too. These are all spring-summer flowers so it’s weird to see these all over town in December.

Victoria actually gets a lot less rain than Montreal and less than Toronto too. We're a unique dry spot in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and get about half of what Vancouver gets.

According to the Motor Vehicle Act, crosswalk rules only apply to the butterfly's larval stage. Once in adulthood, they're required to follow Transport Canada's aviation guidelines which don't say anything about crosswalks.
