It's pretty funny when you play a random indie fighting game out of boredom, find out it's quite janky but then realize that it has ideas that you haven't seen so often. There's a certain joy in finding a raw, flawed game that has a STRONG identity nevertheless and this is one such case (thread 🧵👇)

Honestly whats more fucked up is less about it being easy or hard but more X goes as far as to *encourage* it. People throw around the the term "normalize" but that's what that shit is trying to do. You can't stop someone from disrespecting your work, but you *can* avoid encouraging people to do it.

"people can still download your art from bsky and feed it into AI" if gamer behavior has taught me anything, just one extra button press is more than enough to annoy a MASSIVE amount of people into not making the effort

When people start demanding one game or another should have easy mode or smth I think about DMC V's easy mode which, yeah, is easy enough for anyone to beat, but is also FUCKING BORING because enemies straight up die too fast to build style or do combos. It's a fundamentally different experience.

Trying out @monochromesoft.bsky.social 's newly released Heatwave, found myself suddenly labbing for an hour when I was supposed to just be trying a few characters and going to sleep LOL this game is sick, definitely worth the pickup. Excited to try the story! (which I hear is queer as hell 👀)
