I think Slot’s standards are probably correct, and I think he’s seen Liverpool right on that level. Issue is I’ve never seen a Liverpool team succeed with purely Liverpool-quality players playing.

My issue is more on the other end where the manager is probably right around who has quality and who doesn’t, but a better manager gets use out of the players not so good vs making them understand they’re not seeing a minute. Thats what he’s most been unprepared for and failed at.

I actually am fine with us selling Díaz, a player who made it relatively clear that he wanted to leave and who did not score at all really in the second half of the season, as a pathway to Florian Wirtz.
