TJ Watt and Maxx Crosby in the AFC North
TJ Watt and Maxx Crosby in the AFC North
The Steelers are hosting Miami OT Markel Bell today for a Top 30 visit.
At 6-9 and 346 pounds, heβs a massive human being. A Senior Bowl participant, heβs projected to be drafted late Day 2 or early Day 3.
In my first mock draft, I traded up to land one of the top WRs. What are the options if the Steelers stand pat at No. 21?
www.nytimes.com/athletic/709...
The Steelers need to rebuild their WR room β and Romeo Doubs fits the offense.
Hereβs a look at some more players at positions of need for the team to consider:

The Steelers are releasing Jonnu Smith, an inevitable that saves $7 million against the cap and streamlines a TE depth chart that had one TE too many.

Should read first round. Thank you for pointing out. Will get it corrected.
Ty Simpson believes he's "ready" for the NFL after just 15 starts and a "franchise QB."
Do the Steelers agree?
That question, in some ways, is where their draft starts. The answer determines where the team goes from there.

People on all levels of the Steelers organization β players, coaches and top decision-makers β have maintained consistent communication with the Aaron Rodgers and believe theyβll get an answer from the QB in the next few weeks.
Back from the combine. What Iβm hearing about:

The OT position is fluid. Troy Fautanu was solid in his first healthy season and backup Dylan Cook played fine in a small sample size.
But Broderick Jones is recovering from neck surgery and now Anderson (who endured a late-season knee injury) is out of the picture.
The Steelers are planning to release OT Calvin Anderson, per source. Theyβll save $2M of his $2.415 cap hit in 2026.
Ty Simpson believes heβs βreadyβ for the NFL and a βfranchise quarterback.β

In a draft with endless questions and a sprawling flowchart of possibilities, it all starts there for Pittsburgh.

For the third year in a row, Omar Khan said βall options are on the tableβ at QB. But what does that mean this time?

Omar Khan said they'd "all like to have Nick (Herbig) on the field more." Calls him "someone that we'd like to have around for a long time."
What's that mean for Highsmith?
"This defense has been based on those outside pass rushers for a long time, so you can't ever have enough of them."
Omar Khan said thereβs βno deadlineβ for Aaron Rodgers to make a decision, but he doesnβt βforesee it going like it did last year.β
