San Diegans have pushed back, standing with people at their court hearings and check-ins, visiting detention centers, patrolling neighborhoods to notify residents about Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity and raising mutual aid funds to help families whose breadwinners are detained.
From court hallway arrests to neighborhood raids, from detaining people on the verge of getting green cards to shutting out asylum seekers, the federal government has pressured San Diego immigrants to give up their lives here and leave.
