This needs to happen. In the 80s community college was $5/ unit, the teachers were great, you could get a good education WHILE holding a job which most of us did. Great day/night classes. Transfer to state or UC college was possible, affordable. It can be like that again
Students are heading out of state for school, even though some of our best universities are here in California. I’ll change that.
By pairing two years of free community college with two free years at our UC and CSU campuses, I will make a four-year degree a reality for everyone—without the debt.
