It's even worse on YouTube (and probably TikTok). Have read that people think the vocal speech is a bit monotone (and mispronunciations or incorrect words). I can tell a little with the flat tone sometimes. Captions show the mispronounced/wrong words. Just..artificial all around.

Ahh yes Ocean City NJ. We used to go there every summer (after swim season was over usually). Still remember the street name and what the house looked like (grandparents' "shore house". Sadly house is no more 😭. What I would give for one more trip/summer there....

To add, there are two deaf related- STBG"Loud as a Whisper S2E5 Enterprise transports a renowned Deaf negotiator to a planet to assist in peace talks. Riva uses sign language (with the Chorus as his interpreters ). 1/

I can't exactly say what a garbage plate is, but you reminded me of a dish my family likes to call "garbage salad"- started with my grandmother, Mom made it now sis does. It's a gelatin (think Jell-O) mold started out with a round cake pan now individual cups or whatever. In the bottom half_--TBC---

And boo to the usual awful captions and no visuals on the Puerto Rican sign interpreter. Read that ASL interpreter was shown for like 4 seconds 👎.

I only caught the end of the first half onwards. Very few commericals captioned. Agree with the rest of what you said.
If the whiners want to see the half time show 'subtitled' they can watch it on YouTube with autocaptions as YT translates Spanish to English (very very poorly).

ASL interpretations? I missed the first half so didn't see the Star Spangled Banner until later on YouTube. I never even saw the Puerto Rico Sign language at all and couldn't find it on you tube (ironically YouTube auto captions translated the Spanish tho I don't think that well...?).

It's been largely a positive experience here on Blue sky minus the occasional blocking of annoying accounts (the for funsies one was blocking the VP...last I saw he has the #1 spot of most blocked).

Hmm makes me wonder if I should delete my Twitter (it's currently set to private so nobody can steal my user name for evil). Facebook I know looks bad but a) a lot of people I met on the old AOL boards are there and b) I use a tool that blocks out a lot of the extra junk FB added over the yrs.

Only caught half the super bowl (didn't know it started at 6:30 my time) but yup quite a few were not captioned. Captions were messed up in some parts of the game: halftime show was near perfect (I think, don't know Spanish well enough despite 2 years Spanish class at Gallaudet).

Whew back to normal! A few ads aren't captioned... 🤔
