For @birminghamlive.bsky.social I spoke to comedy legend Stewart Lee about Birmingham's overlooked Surrealist Emmy Bridgwater (whose house was on his paper round). I agree with him - we all need to shout a little louder about our city's culture: birminghammail.co.uk/whats-on/art...
Very much looking forward to having a conversation with @lucindahawksley.bsky.social at The Munnings Art Museum in Essex on May 6th. More details here:

Here’s an incisive, thoughtful and good natured movie podcast to check out: Eavesdropping at the Movies.👍🎥💬
What an artist. I interviewed a concept artist here in the U.K. recently (re:Alien Romulus) and he rhapsodized about Cobb’s aesthetic.👍
Ain’t it great?😊🌟
So true.👍
Head for the western sky with my new article for Creative Bloq to read about the work of @ilmvfx.bsky.social on the movie #Wicked:https://www.creativebloq.com/entertainment/vfx/how-the-magical-vfx-of-wicked-was-made-and-why-a-single-scene-was-make-or-break Thankyiu! 🧙🎥
The artist David Wiesner provided illustrations for the sequel. 👍🌌🎨
This was such a big deal to see at the cinema when it arrived here in the U.K.
In this new conversation with Drew Barrymore about ET (www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...) Steven Spielberg refers to the only ET sequel to have been realised. In 2015, I spoke with William Kotzwinkle - the writer of that sequel - for SciFi Now magazine. Thanks! Watch the skies. 🌌
👍 That’s a fun film.
Paul Newman was born on this day in 1925. If you’re interested in how still-images of movie stars play their part in shaping that stardom please do check out my book pictured here. Thanks! #paulnewman

Federico Fellini wrote a synopsis for a film that never reached the screen in his lifetime. The film has now been made as ‘Naples-New York’. I’ve written a piece for @beforesmag.bsky.social about it: beforesandafters.com/2024/12/04/t... Thanks!
I didn’t know until today that Walter Murch has a new book due for publication this May. 👍 Do check out his earlier books, ‘In the Blink of an Eye’ and ‘The Conversations’ if you enjoy reading and thinking about how movies work.
And here’s the cover of the print issue of ImagineFX magazine in which the piece originally appeared. 👍🐉🧙♂️🧙⚔️
Late last year I wrote a piece about the visual heritage of @dndbeyond.com on the occasion of the game’s 50th anniversary. You can read it here: www.creativebloq.com/art/50-years... Thankyou! #dungeons&dragons
Starting this spring, please do keep a look out online for a series of new animation-themed articles that are currently in the works here. Thanks!
Very intrigued to read about the in-development Robert Eggers-sequel to the Jim Henson movie, Labyrinth. In 2016, I had a conversation for Sci Fi Now magazine with Brian Henson about his memories of working with his father on Labyrinth. Here’s a glimpse at the article. Thanks!
Jeanne Moreau was born on this day in 1928. A couple of years ago I wrote the book pictured here, and it includes a number of photos taken by Douglas Kirkland of Moreau and Bardot together for the movie, Viva Maria! (1965). Thankyou! ✏️🎥 #JeanneMoreau

A note of thanks from me to readers of my book pictured here from ACC Art Books and Iconic Images (London). I found out today that it has just been published in its fifth edition. It was originally published in March 2020. Thankyou.😊👍#JamesBond #filmwriting
Q: Who ya gonna call?
A: Prospero.
I thought that the new movie Nosferatu was tremendous. What I perhaps enjoyed most was its use and presentation of firelight and candlelight. There is a scene in a woodland tavern early on in the movie that looked like Rembrandt had been the DP.
The latest issue of SFX magazine is currently available (in print and digital editions). For this issue, I was hugely grateful to have a conversation with @thehorrormaster.bsky.social about his wonderful movie, Starman (1984). Thanks!
Several years ago, I wrote a piece for @lwlies.com about a very beautiful movie called The Straight Story. It was directed by #DavidLynch. You can read my appreciative piece here: lwlies.com/articles/the... Thankyou.
