Betting on racehorses can be a tough game. The tri-cast was there. Paid £106. 2-1 was value with PRESLEY returning at even money. He has just bumped into a better horse on the day. Ben Jones is a genius once in front. See previous posts. As stated all four mentioned are decent. We move on. 😊
The Money is down.
PRESLEY Warwick 17.23
Warwick Bumper Preview: A Field Packed with Promise The opener at Warwick features a competitive bumper with plenty to like. Nicky Henderson’s Jetaway Holiday (by Jet Away) comes with strong yard whispers—he’s described as decent, race-ready, and likely to show up well on debut for a trainer who excels at getting them spot-on first time. Chinese Whispers, from Emma Lavelle’s stable, is another who catches the eye as a very nice type. Held in high regard by connections, this Maxios gelding has the physical scope and backing to suggest he’s above average for this level. And that’s without even mentioning “Ben’s horse”—another contender adding depth to what shapes up as a warm race. That said, the one I’ve personally been waiting on is Presley (trained by Dan Skelton). After time off the track, his return has been anticipated, and at around 2-1 he looks fairly priced. Not necessarily the standout “best bet” in such a field, but he’s a horse with upside who’ll be worth following closely as he gets back into the swing of things. Whatever lines up, it promises to be an exciting contest—good luck if you’re getting involved, and enjoy the action!

Nicky Henderson's Jetaway Holiday is decent and ready on debut, while Chinese Whispers is a nice type highly regarded by Emma Lavelle. Don't overlook Ben Pauling's Merry Away either.
Still, the one to follow is Presley (Dan Skelton) on his return—around 2/1 looks fair.

5.18 - Chepstow - HOOJ
Working very well at home. Expected to go close. He was going to win an English point-to-point by a fair distance before he fell two out, but his work at home has been really good and expected to go very well. 7-2 to Win.

HOE JOLT SMOKE
3.45 Kempton
Dan Skelton has targeted this race for Hoe Joly Smoke. Three miles on this track is absolutely ideal for him. We've put a pair of cheekpieces on him as well. He should go close. He's unexposed over 3 miles, well-weighted. 8-1
17.20 Exeter - MOMENT IN TIME 5-2
Loveable Reprobate left a strongly favourable impression at Carlisle but conceding 7lb to MOMENTS IN TIME may prove beyond him. Big chasing type who must be followed what ever happens today.

Wetherby 3.50
PRESLEY has come on for his debut and is expected to go close. Fergal O’Brien point winner Midnight Jukebox is also said to be useful. I’m hoping Harry makes it a test and it doesn’t become a sprint. I’ve been waiting for this fellow and my money will be down.
JOB DONE
🏆🏆🏆🏆
I don’t put many up but the results are there for all to see. Another Winner at 4-1
BRAVE GUEST - Ascot 12.25
Sheena West likes him and he has improved race by race since switching to hurdles. Value Bet each way at around 33-1 . Got to be worth a small punt. One to follow.

HERON IN THE PARK
Taunton 1.32
4-1 generally
Should be up to winning this maiden. Looks a weak race. Tom George holds her in the highest regard, She cost £280k, Sean Bowen booked. Had ran well before unseating at Kempton.
Only the one winner today. Fortune Dancer gets the job done at 2-1
TODAYS NAP
MOLLYS LAD - Cheltenham 3.40
The team speak very highly of him and was expected to win at Aintree. Hopefully a more positive ride can see him go one better.
FORTUNE DANCER - Windsor 3.22
Mare has looked a different horse since going chasing and will enjoy operating round this course.
I would like to wish every reader of my posts a happy new year. I hope 2026 brings you happiness, fulfilment and great memories.
Cheers 🥂
