The UdeS made me Emeritus. This is a big deal in francophone universities. As an ethnic voter who speaks with an accent, it is not always easy to feel at home in Quรฉbec, but I always was at home at the Universitรฉ de Sherbrooke, very grateful.
Canadaโs first European Robin (Erinthacus rubecula)! Only the fourth observation in North America. Most likely a vagrant from a ship. There was just over 100 observers this morning.

Very sad to hear of this. I met Emma at conference I organized in Montreal in 2019. She had a stellar reputation, so I invited her as a keynote speaker. She was charismatic & inspirational. Students in particular told me they enjoyed meeting her. Wonderful person. theconversation.com/emma-johnsto...

This week I had the opportunity to represent Universitรฉ de Sherbrooke at #CSEE2025, presenting my research on Eastern chipmunk behaviour and life-history.
I am honoured to have been able to attend, and discuss the future of ecology and evolution with both new and old colleagues and friends.
I had the opportunity of presenting the first preliminary results of my project this week at #CSEE2025, which we hosted in Sherbrooke. Iโm extremely grateful to have met amazing researchers and fellow students, most of which, love frogs as much as I do ๐ธ.
With field work about to finish, here are a some pictures from the last few weeks ๐ธ!
