As Ablert Einstein said, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Donald Trump is not a sane person. He is dangerous, for not only women, BIPOC, Mexicans, and the LGBTQIA+ community, but for human rights, democracy, and the United States
In fact, it is widely considered to have negative effects on the economy as the deportation of Mexican Americans, many of whom were US-born citizens, caused a reduced labor pool in certain sectors of employment without actually addressing the root cause of unemployment during that time.
And in the end, the Mexican Repatriation Act didn’t “fix” anything.
Immigrants were illegally imprisoned, US-born children were deported, families were separated, people who weren’t legally subject to deportation were deported, and families were forced to abandon their properties.

In the aftermath, neighborhoods were emptied, businesses were closed, and cultural institutions shut down. Low-skilled workers were unable to hold a job or find employment opportunities, and the Repatriation reduced demand for jobs held by U.S. natives such as skilled craftsmen and managers.
From 1929 to 1936, the United States enforced the Mexican Repatriation Act. This act was imposed because during the Great Depression, many Americans had trouble staying employed and blamed Mexican immigrants, as well as Mexican Americans, of stealing their jobs.
