Chardonnay and costco almond croissants. You cannot beat this combination.
On a side note: waiting on a biopsy is a special kind of hell I wish on no one and if one more doctor tells me to not worry YET I am gonna go on a slapping spree.

I feel this to my core and I am merely waiting on a biopsy. I cried cuz I did not want to go to sleep because I did not want to feel like I was ceasing to exist. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I am so sorry, Mara.

I run out of my gigantic container of costco bear claws. I am watching tv with empty hands and empty mouth. Sad!!!

Occasionally reminded that Georgia added a β€œpost tenure review” process bc they were so certain that professors became deadweight once they had job security, and all the outcomes have proven JUST THE OPPOSITE! People work harder and in more complex ways when they feel secure in their employment.

My guilty pleasure is watching β€œLove is Blind”
Let me tell you. The men and their behavior is not the exception. It is the rule. That is what it is out there for pretty, successful women. Heck, women in general. It is THAT bad.

Sometimes I am like be happy with what you get. I allow a flash card (front and back) 3x5in. Then it becomes: what size? Can I have the biggest one? JUST ONE FLASH CARD?! What can I put on it?
No good deed goes unpunished!

Spent most of the day doing field work with my independent research student. We visited a neat outcrop of sedimentary rock between Catoctin Formation lava flows. The ~4m strat column here grades from mud at the bottom through arkosic turbidites and into a conglomerate full of rounded pebbles. βš’οΈ

For context: he works remotely in advertising. His work day is like three hours long. And he is not ambitious which is fine. His career is set and great. But I AM!!! So during the semester I am pretty busy.
Ugh! Dies alone!

For those of you who are very busy people, how do you have relationships? How do you CONSTANTLY explain to your partner that you are busy? Cuz mine does not seem to grasp the idea. Like, did you think I am where I am in my career and life cuz I take it easy.
I am so annoyed!!!

My final #FridayFold from December's visit to Mosaic Canyon in Death Valley NP in California. This one is pretty crazy, with at least two hinges. See if you can make any sense of it. βš’οΈ
