A miracle occurred today-NOA received! R35 renewal application submitted May 2024, reviewed October 2024, council feb 2025 cancelled. Under administrative review" for 4 months. Aug1 start (instead of april 1) Better late than never! Sincerely grateful for the NIH staff that made this happen.
On July 14 the status of my R35 renewal application (submitted May 2024) changed to "Award Prepared" in ERA commons. Is this it? Will I get an NOA? I had totally given up on this and am worried about getting too hopeful about this. Advice please!!!
Does anyone know if the R35 MIRA RFA for established investigators which expired on June 1 will be renewed?
speaking of which, according to NIH reporter no NOAs have gone out for R35 year 6 awards (competitive renewals) since May 14.????????????????????
Is anyone else anxious about May 22 NIGMS advisory council? Will there be more NOAs for new grants sent out after this meeting? My R35 renewal went from 'pending council review' to 'pending administrative review' but I still know absolutely NOTHING about whether it will be funded. No reply from PO.
Maybe he can get more NOAs sent out. Or die trying. Not feeling very optimistic.
do you mind sharing your impact score? and did they increase your budget? I also have a colleague with same timeline who was funded, but another colleague was told by his PO to expect a 40% budget decrease.
Who is getting NOAs from NIGMS? My colleague and I submitted R35 renewal applications in 5/2024, review 10/2024, cancelled AC 2/25. He got his NOA. I have only "pending administrative review" status. Only 24 R35 -06 have been awarded since 4/1/2025 (NIH reporter). Is it random who gets NOA when????
i received that same response from my PO pretty much verbatim. Still it seems like they are trying to position themselves to release funding. fingers crossed.

HEY! After checking ERA commons daily, TODAY my R35 renewal changed from 'pending council review' to 'pending administrative review. Refer any questions to Program Official or Grants Management Specialist." does this mean my grant will get funded? AC on 2/6/25 was cancelled, was waiting for 5/22/25.

Yes, I am hearing about this as well. Approximately 200 people including program officers within their first 3 years. More wanton and cruel destruction.

Would be great to ask about Advisory Council meetings too. How many people (like me) have a grant that was scored favorably but still see 'pending council review' on ERA Commons? As I understand it no ACs have met since 1/20/25 ie no new grants have been approved in any institute. Is that true?
What about people like me depending on a MIRA renewal application that is now in limbo due to advisory council meeting being 'postponed'. How many labs are going to permanently close due to these indefinite delays in funding?
Being in grant limbo pretty tough when you followed the party line and have a research lab that is primarily funded with a single R35 MIRA grant and have no idea if/when it will be funded even though it received a 'fundable' score.
What will happen to pending grants that included a (required) PEDP diversity plan that was included in study section review? I was told that study sections meeting post DEI ban have been told not to include the PEDP in their score. Will pending grants in limbo be considered? Have to resubmit?
