This might be the lumpiest bechemel I've ever made and I think it's because I took my eye off it for 10 seconds to write that post ๐
As I'm not a fan of roast dinners but a big fan of cooking I am making myself a buttered-leek-roasted-cauliflower-mac and cheese for dinner today.
An unholy abomination of a dish.
I cannot wait
I work at Creative Assembly now ๐๐๐๐
I'm now Senior Brand Manager working on Total War!
I had such a fab first week with the team, the projects are incredible and I got to watch a big announcement at the TGAs on my 4th day ๐
I'm so happy this census is being run again ๐
Having up to date data to refer to is incredibly important when you volunteer for diversity initiatives @limitbreak.co.uk
TAKE PART GAMES PALS ๐ฎ
The games industry right now is SUCH a wonderful place ๐ซ
Still at least I was getting interviews, I imagine the radio silence would have been MUCH worse!
Thankyoou! I will be needing many brighton recs in the near future ๐
I just signed a contract to start work in 2 weeks ๐๐๐
Its been almost 8 months since I was made redundant, there's been 59 jobs applications, 36 interviews, 3 different offers and *finally* I get to do Brand work on games again ๐
And I'm moving to Brighton!
AND it's my Birthday this week!!!
It turns out doing pickleback shots at 3am, when you are very much not 22, will almost kill you.
I have never been this hungover.
At the point of 'using up food before a holiday' that I'm having blue cheese, dates, and vegan hotdog sausages for breakfast โ๏ธ
I just had a delightful interview with some bloody lovely people and now I get to go and walk the dog with the warm and fuzzies having chatted with awesome people about creative fun stuff ๐
Yep they only had good things to say post-final interview but someone had a bit more experience so ... hey ho. Onto the next one.
Lucky interview number 25??
I just got rejected for a job I was really excited about and I now have 2 hours to get myself together before my next interview for another role that initially rejected my application but has now changed their mind
5 months since redundancy and counting ๐ซ ๐ซ ๐ซ
The soundtrack was unreal!! Going on the regular rotation for when I need my day to be a bit more epic
This is an *excellent* idea
Also if anyone makes a Esquie plushie they can have ALL of my money
Clair Obscur thankyou screen from the end of the game. Sepia toned drawing of all the characters gathered around a piano
Luke warm take but I just finished Clair Obscur and it was fucking fantastic
Why does Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a film I put on as a JOKE, have an absolutely stacked cast??
Also, I would unironically LOVE to play an RDR2 dlc where you hunt down Vampire Bandits. It's the only logical follow-up to Undead Nightmare.
Abbie is taking a picture of herself waiting in a teams meeting There are xbox controllers on the wall behind her and a sword, a bookcase and a monstera plant
Interviews were actually lovely today ๐
The only reason I was able to get a job at a studio was because it was during COVID and relocation wasn't mandatory.
When you don't have the safety net of asking parents for money it makes you risk averse. You are acutely aware of what resource scarcity is - because you probably lived it
Oh and the constant sound of drilling is perfect for a full day of interview prep thanks for asking
The previous tenants moved out of next door and I watched them spend 3 full days cleaning that place from top to bottom.
Today I was woken up by builders drilling off all the plaster inside the house at 7am
Landlords can be such scumbags I swear.
I've walked the dog (v early to avoid the sun) painted fences, done a food shop and showered
NOW I can sit and enjoy SGDQ and play a bit of Clair Obscur and have an iced coffee as a little treat
*me dripping in sweat after walking the dog for an hour in the heat*
Ooh yeah I'd love a cup of tea
SO PROUD ๐๐๐
Waiting for my car service and just heard a woman say that electric cars aren't safe for women with no further explanation
COME BACK I HAVE QUESTIONS
I loved it
Had a couple of janky moments in the story and was tonally different in places than I thought it was going to be
But I'm very excited for the inevitable 'who are the real monsters?' storyline in the second one!
Think I might buy myself a Switch 2 when I finally land a job
As a little treat
Is it only 7 months?!?
Hell yeah!!
The drive home was the most intense post-film conversation I've had in a WHILE
You could have given me millions of guesses and a million years I would never have predicted the ending to 28 Years Later
Mind. Blown.
