None of this is necessary. Don't pay for it.
Move to Connecticut. A mostly ignorant (with respect to animals) blue state.
factory farming is wasting our food.
For every 100 calories of grain fed to animals, only 3-25 calories of meat are produced.
This wastes land, damages ecosystems and leaves people hungry.
We need to fix our broken food system. Please sign our open letter to the UK Prime Minister β‘οΈ https://bit.ly/4hc5yDO
Land use, water use, biodiversity loss, pollution, human health impacts... the list is endless. insideclimatenews.org/news/2502202...
Fully support the big tent idea.
βIn fact, there is a Democrat research scientist, Chris Jones, a water researcher who is running for IA Sec of Ag. A quixotic mission in IA, a D running against an incumbent R; thatβs really a tall task.β

Apart from human health considerations, the Trump exec order on glyphosate's importance to national security is utterly baffling. Until now. Great piece by @stacymalkan.bsky.social usrtk.org/pesticides/t...
Gail Eisnitz is one of the unsung heroes of the world.
The #1 way to lower your carbon footprint is to leave animals off your plate! Scientists estimate wild mammals & birds now make up only 4% of the worldβs land vertebrate biomass, while humans & livestock account for roughly 96%. In other words, we did not simply shrink the wild, we replaced it.
They WERE lied to - in theory. But the old maxim applies. It's not what they say, it's what they DO. And this admin has shown all along it will side with corporations over public health. MAHA moms could turn it around now though.
Great promotion. And absolutely grounded in truth.
Actually, it's the Gulf of Water Pollution Denial
Craziest thing ever. No indication that there is a deficit of glyphosate. And to claim that it's for "food" production is insanity. More than 70% used on corn & soybeans for animal feed & ethanol. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/18/u...

Wow. Art is powerful.
This is a terrific, creative recap of harms done by factory farming and the wonderful folks working to end it.https://sraproject.org/unlivable/
NEW: Ben Williamson of Animal Outlook exposes how "family farms" selling raw milk follow the same playbook as mega dairies. Their investigation reveals the pastoral myth vs. reality.

This is pretty damn good
They think they're saving $ in regulation costs, but in fact, pollution (mostly from animal ag) is costing Americans much, much more. Look at some of these numbers. www.ucs.org/resources/le...
This is big. But not terribly surprising. Who can trust this administration's USDA for data, research, or anything?
BEY03Fβs arrival in the mountains of LA county is a win for wildlife, but we are still fighting for protections for wolves. Yesterday @biologicaldiversity.org filed a lawsuit challenging the administrationβs failure to develop a natβl gray wolf recovery plan

These piglets are very sick ..most probably with the Atypical Porcine Pest Virus (APPV) π
FHarmers are cruel people.
Why are you still financing this ruthless abuse industry?

Chris Jones should be the leader of Democratic agricultural policy. He's following the science.
While the EPA is about to dismantle itself, it's good to know where most of the pesticides in the U.S. are going. This is what is contaminating U.S. waterways, killing biodiversity, and ending up in your drinking water.
A reminder that when this is the week's trending topic, millions of birds will be killed via suffocation to deal with the spread of a virus that is exacerbated by the very conditions in which the birds are forced to live.
PFAS are not the only contaminants contaminating wells and even public water systems. Nitrates, pathogens, and pesticides should all be investigated. The "quietly" part is the EPA doing nothing.
