Iβm in SoCal as well!
Hi Leon, any new club members that can be mentored by the βElmersβ? That might get some engagement going. Also, any public field days that could bring some interested folks into the club?
Unbelievable that got through to any media outlet at all.
Alternatively, they also drove around neighborhoods doing an RF fox hunt looking for pirated service which usually had poorly cut RG cable connections. It was easy to find them prior to notch filters and digital receivers. Source: I took extra hours with a cable provider and got $10 USD per find.
Wind as of 10pm PST on Tuesday: 25mph with 53 mph gusts.
They could opt to run off delivery lines anytime. Hereβs the wind in Pacific Palisades as of now, current wind plus gusts. Ought to taper off slowly with declining winds Wednesday. Still not in fire fighterβs favor. Iβm east of LA in OC about 40 miles away with winds at 17 & guest @ 33.
I have the same issue and am also in a major metropolitan area (Southern California). Itβs near impossible to make contact on the fly and across one or more hops.
Agreed. They are well done and I suggest a second to do testing (no case required if you brave put together a simple kit like Heltec v3.

They all look good together.
Congratulations!
He also filled in for vocals with Queen for a few years.
Only after clipping a notch on side two to write to it.
Same!
Wondering if they considered just upending the sofa to reduce the footprint going around corners. A real Hail Mary move when needed.
I have the same tuner. What was your issue with the ATU? Thx
Iβm YΓR, a large bag of inconveniently sized plastic protectors you install to prevent scratches from furniture like GRΓNSTA.

ICOM 2330A dual band FM transceiver.
Wednesday night radio club check in. Fired up the ICOM 2330A for some 220MHz band time. Clear as day off of a Santiago Peak repeater. #HamRadio
Cable organizing today and swapped in a few new RG8X jumper cables an extra foot longer to tuck them away nicer. Couldnβt figure out why FT-8 was so bad - no responses at all. Then I checked and found lβd not connected the antenna cable back to the switchβ¦.amazing TX/RX after that! YIKES #HamRadio
Amen
How many βdecorativeβ pillows are on your bed? Are any useful?

These guys were idle today. Loads of this and that going on around the house. Did a little research, but nothing material for now. An interesting article here on magnetic mobile mounts and adding radials. Will consider this down the roadβ¦

(2/2) Experimented a bit more with JS8 Call and reported findings to the new Fullerton Club mail group, made a few WSJT-X QSOβs, and noted thereβs a fair range difference between 100 watts on the Yaesu and 20 on the G90.

(1/2) Success with the G90 and both WSJT-X and JS8 today. Had great RX, however no TX out. Tracked that down by trial and error to a short jumper from an antenna switch. Patching the Cushcraft R7 direct to the G90 did the trick. (more)
Spent last night setting up my Xiegu G90 for remotes on FT-8 on WSJT-X and hit 40/20m bands via Mint Linux with checklists to work out details. Also setup Winlink using VARA (HF) and it works nicely. Updated the VARA .exeβs using the latest. Many details. Yaesu FT-847 for higher power

Local Fullerton Ham Club meeting tonight. Check in first on the club repeater at 70cm and the second at 432.100MHz SSB. Zoom meeting followed. Not successful on second as Iβm around a hill from most of the members participating. One was able to relay for me. Always good to join in.

Thanks! My local club sure helped get things on the air.
Wow thanks! Updated my profile with a partial equipment list. Ran out of spaceβ¦kind of new to ham radio there is much to learn and play with.
Awesome
I have a RTL-SDR v3 on a pi, moved to Linux Mint for ham data. Have done some gnuradio, interested in weather, ham radio data modes, satellite. Learning something each day.
Like the use of HamClock and will lay more with options there (also running on a pi). What other software or sites do you recommend? 73
