Indeed. Plus, what made the night was the slightly naughty, ramshackled chaos which local heroes Shaun Ryder, Bez, Noel and Angry Ginge brought to the party. It's what makes it "the Brits", rather than other, more po-faced, awards; it is at its very best when it doesn't take itself too seriously.

On my way to Portman Road for one of the few New Year's Day football matches I've attended. Thirty years ago today, I took my dad to what turned out to be his last match at his beloved White Hart Lane. It was quite a game. I'll be raising a glass to him today.
She died in a car crash. One of the best episodes of the entire series is about Bartlet's asking God to help him understand it - Two Cathedrals.

RIP to Rob Reiner, a director behind the camera for many iconic lines & images in modern cinema, and influence with Castle Rock Entertainment beyond his own. Choose to remember that, and his efforts to improve the lives of others - ignore the other noise and maybe pop on one of his films this week.
