other people can make inroads and find common ground with regretful trump voters, in my personal capacity as a private citizen i am committed to hating those dumb motherfuckers for the rest of my life
my thing was I tried telling people something was wrong, like really badly wrong, and got "but you've always been fine! we've never had to worry about you!" 🙃
[addressing my reflection on the filthy MacBook screen]: No! I am busy! I will not engage discourse! I stopped by here to hear some good jokes and chill in the middle of my work! my contribution to discourse will not inspire or persuade anybody! it's just noise! Worthless noise of no value! stfu!!
in an era when carnivore diet influencers are in charge of the american nuclear arsenal we have to admit the "annoying vegan" stereotype barely ever actually existed and the "all meat diet guy" is real, increasingly omnipresent, and way more annoying and inconvenient to actually be around
favorite pizza I can currently get is cream sauce, prosciutto, parmesan, mozzarella, arugula. second favorite is bacon, cheddar cheese, garlic sauce, green onions (think baked potato pizza). if I make it for myself it's pepperoni and black olives all the way down.
do not under any circumstances take a proofs-based statistics course just because you "like math" you will get 11/35 on the midterm, past the point where you could drop the class, and regret every choice you have ever made in your life up to that point.

Emil and Pantoffel on the monny ranch, as puppies. Seemed the right time to share now that he's taken his bow! What a handsome country boy.
five classes I took in college.
- biochemistry (fun)
- statistical inference for engineers (horrible)
- quantum mechanics (fun!)
- stand up comedy (stressful)
- beekeeping (fun)
I checked my notes and this was actually all in one semester. gotta balance out the math with whimsy, I guess.

yeah I read that earlier and it was not worth the time tbh.
they always feel like the passive aggressive worksonas of regular emoji to me
and I agree it's worth thinking about which accents are rarely/never spelled out: an rp english accent is very different from an american accent but americans aren't usually writing it out with all the r's taken off the ends of the words (other non-rhotic accents DO get that treatment tho)
yeah my question is often "who are you spelling this out FOR." bc something written phonetically for someone with an american midwest accent is not necessarily written phonetically for someone with a different accent.
yeah I think there's some nuance bc having a character say "fuckin" instead of "fucking" can actually add a layer of meaning if it's an intentional choice, but if it's just a default for that character all the time then it's worth asking why you feel the need to do that.
like to use myself as an example - I have the pin/pen merger which is not common where I live now. if someone was writing dialogue for me and they spelled things like milk -> "melk" or pillow -> "pellow" I would consider murder lmao. cuz it's not misspelled. it's how the word is pronounced. to me.
I think this is a thing where two things can be true 1) ed definitely says "fuckin'" sometimes but not all the time 2) relying too much on "spelling out" someone's dialect/accent or informal way of speaking in written text can be insulting/ othering, bc it marks it as not "normal"
short answer: yes

When you get the reputation of being the guy with the encouraging words on New Year's Eve, it can start to come through as a little pressure -- what if the situation on the ground is worse than usual? what if people are more scared than they usually are, and with cause? what use are good vibes then?
not too late for a flu shot btw, flu historically often peaks in february and by all accounts it is pretty bad this year
yes I’m happy to clarify. when I do it it’s called discourse. when you do it it’s running off at the mouth all wild style and whatnot. these are just technical terms
have been working on a sequel to Slippery When Wet and there are TWO chapters now, here's a link to the whole thing for those who may be interested. Title is Ed and Stede Hide a Body. You'll never guess what happens in it 😇

I struggle to reliably spell words with double letters. Committee is ok bc all the ones you think should be doubled are doubled (bc they need a quorum obvs) but words like tomorrow and unnecessary and vacuum are not my friends.
it's the friendland blanket/shawl by raina kruus! knit with malabrigo arroyo in the colors peggy and carnival ❤️
