It’s still early in the day, but I can guarantee you that my biggest accomplishment has been (and WILL REMAIN) not getting any tomato soup on my white top.

3. I don’t understand how senators get paid during a shutdown but many staffers do not.
2. Servers at multiple places we visited said that things haven’t been this bad since COVID. Between Nat’l Guard presence and the shutdown, people aren’t going out. (Seriously— the restaurants we visited were mostly empty.)
Traveling to and from DC this weekend and here are two takeaways:
1. TSA workers have been exceedingly friendly despite what are, no doubt, really trying times. 1/3
