Because we don't need to analyze a hundred factors to rank most things. Red states often have the least educated people, the most unemployed people, the highest murder rates per capita, get far more from the Feds than they pay in taxes.
What state is perfect? It's all about comparisons. And MA compared to OK is far better.

There is room for both but killing them off is more serious. Too many writers need to feel they are serious writers not just entertainers.

Too many writers think killing off a beloved character gives their shows gravitas. I feel in many cases it is a cheap way of doing so.
